As these photographs and historical events show, Muslims have participated in the fall of revolutions throughout the ages.

However, attempts to diminish Muslims as a political force are being made not only by the military, but also by certain revolutionary forces and sections of the media.

Intifada consistently opposes such developments. By presenting history, Muslims will come to know their own history. It is also openly believed that this will bring greater visibility to the role of Muslims within the revolution.

For this reason, today we present the life journey of Brother Zaid, one of the revolutionary leaders.

Brief Biography

He was born in 1942 in Kyunbin village, Mon State, to father U Abdullah and mother Daw Khin Si. At around 4–5 years of age, he moved with his parents to Yangon (Kandawgalay/Mingalar Taung Nyunt), where he studied at the Burma Muslim School and Rangoon University School, and later pursued law studies at university.

Occupations:

He served as a schoolteacher, personal assistant (PA) to the Pakistani ambassador, and worked with the Myanmar Air Force and Union of Burma Airways (UBA).

Political Journey:

(1) Beginning in Politics – At age 17, he began his political involvement as the youngest Central Executive Committee member of the multi-ethnic, multi-religious organization led by the queen of Sao Shwe Thaik, Burma’s first President, Mahadevi.

(Sao Shwe Thaik died in General Ne Win’s jail after the 1962 coup; his younger son was killed by soldiers during the raid/arrest at the time of the coup; his wife Mahadevi then went underground and started a rebellion, which Brother Zaid joined.)

(2) He served as an executive committee member of the All-Burma Muslim Students and Youth Association.

(3) Underground Movement and First Imprisonment – Due to his involvement in underground activities in connection with the Pyithu Chit (People’s Love) group, he was arrested along with weapons and imprisoned for the first time in 1971.

(4) Activism with Student Leader Salai Tin Maung Oo – After his release from prison in 1973, he collaborated with his friend Salai Tin Maung Oo, a martyr whom he had met while in prison, and who had been sentenced to life imprisonment by military leaders for rebellion. Following the 1974 U Thant crisis, when Tin Maung Oo was being pursued by U Ne Win’s government, Brother Zaid safely escorted him to the Thai border.

(5) Second Imprisonment and Revolution – In 1975, he was arrested for a second time and sentenced to life imprisonment. After being released under a general amnesty in 1980, he joined the Karen National Union (KNU) and resumed revolutionary activities.

(6) Founding of the KLMF – On October 23, 1983, he founded and led the Kawthoolei Muslim Liberation Front (KLMF).

The founder of the Kawthoolei Muslim Liberation Front (KMLF), revolutionary leader Brother Zaid Abdullah, also known as U Maung Maung Lwin, also known as Azam, passed away on July 31, 2005. Today marks the 21st anniversary of his passing.

မွတ်စ်လင်မ်အများစု မသိတဲ့ တော်လှန်ရေးခေါင်းဆောင်

မွတ်စ်လင်မ်တို့သည် ခေတ်အဆက်ဆက် တော်လှန်ရေး၏ ကျရာနေရာတွင် ပါဝင်မှုများအား ယခုကဲ့သို့ ရုပ်ပုံလွှာများ၊ သမိုင်းအဖြစ်အပျက်များက သက်သေ ပြနေသည်။

သို့သော်လည်း မွတ်စ်လင်မ်များအား နိုင်ငံရေးအင်အားစုအဖြစ်မှ လျှော့ချရန် ကြိုးပမ်းမှုများအား စစ်တပ်အပြင် တော်လှန်ရေးအင်အားစုအချို့နှင့် မီဒီယာအချို့မှပါ ကြိုးပမ်းနေသည်။

အင်န်သီဖဒါအနေဖြင့် ထိုအဖြစ်အပျက်များအား အစဉ်ဆန့်ကျင်သည်။ သမိုင်းအား ဖော်ပြခြင်းဖြင့် မွတ်စ်လင်မ်တို့အနေဖြင့် မိမိတို့၏ သမိုင်းအား သိမည်။ တော်လှန်ရေးအတွင်းမှ မွတ်စ်လင်မ်တို့၏ အခန်းကဏ္ဍအား ထင်သာမြင်သာရှိစေမည်ဟုလည်း ပွင့်ပွင့်လင်းလင်း ယူဆသည်။

ထို့ကြောင့် ယနေ့တွင် တော်လှန်ရေးခေါင်းဆောင်တဦးဖြစ်သည့် ဘရားသားဇိုက်ဒ်၏ ဖြတ်သန်းမှုအား ဖော်ပြလိုက်သည်။

အတ္ထုပ္ပတ္တိ အကျဉ်းချုပ်

၁၉၄၂ ခုနှစ်တွင် မွန်ပြည်နယ်၊ ကျုံဖဲရွာ၌ အဘ ဦးအဗ်ဒွလ္လာဟ်နှင့် အမိ ဒေါ်ခင်စီတို့မှ မွေးဖွားခဲ့သည်။ အသက် (၄-၅) နှစ်အရွယ်တွင် မိဘများနှင့်အတူ ရန်ကုန်မြို့ (ကန်တော်ကလေး/မင်္ဂလာတောင်ညွန့်) သို့ ပြောင်းရွှေ့နေထိုင်ခဲ့ပြီး ဘားမားမွတ်စလင်ကျောင်းနှင့် ရန်ဒေးရီးယားကျောင်းတို့တွင် ပညာသင်ကြားခဲ့ကာ တက္ကသိုလ်၌ ဥပဒေဘာသာရပ်ကို ဆည်းပူးခဲ့သည်။

အလုပ်အကိုင်များ –

ကျောင်းဆရာ၊ ပါကစ္စတန်သံအမတ်၏ PA၊ မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော် (လေ) နှင့် မြန်မာ့လေကြောင်း (UBA) တို့တွင် တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်ခဲ့သည်။

နိုင်ငံရေးဖြတ်သန်းမှုများ –

(၁) နိုင်ငံရေးစတင်ဝင်ရောက်ခြင်း အသက် ၁၇ နှစ်တွင် စပ်ရွှေသိုက်နှင့် မဟာယာဒေဝီတို့၏ တိုင်းရင်းသားလူနည်းစု ဘာသာပေါင်းစုံအဖွဲ့တွင် အသက်အငယ်ဆုံး ဗဟိုအလုပ်အမှုဆောင်အဖြစ် စတင်ပါဝင်ခဲ့သည်။

(၂) ဗမာနိုင်ငံလုံးဆိုင်ရာ မွတ်စလင် မ်ကျောင်းသူကျောင်းသား လူငယ်များအသင်းတွင် အမှုဆောင်အဖြစ် တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်ခဲ့သည်။

(၃) မြေအောက်လှုပ်ရှားမှုနှင့် ပထမအကြိမ် ထောင်ဒဏ် – ပြည်ချစ်အဖွဲ့နှင့် ချိတ်ဆက်၍ မြေအောက်လှုပ်ရှားမှုများ ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ခြင်းကြောင့် ၁၉၇၁ ခုနှစ်တွင် လက်နက်များနှင့်အတူ ပထမအကြိမ် ဖမ်းဆီးထောင်ချခံခဲ့ရသည်။

(၄) ကျောင်းသားခေါင်းဆောင် ဆလိုင်းတင်မောင်ဦးနှင့် လှုပ်ရှားခြင်း – ၁၉၇၃ ခုနှစ် ထောင်မှလွတ်မြောက်လာပြီးနောက် ထောင်တွင်းတွေ့ဆုံခဲ့သည့် သူငယ်ချင်း ဆလိုင်းတင်မောင်ဦးနှင့် ပူးပေါင်းခဲ့သည်။ ၁၉၇၄ ခုနှစ် ဦးသန့်အရေးအခင်းအပြီး ဦးနေဝင်းအစိုးရ၏ လိုက်လံဖမ်းဆီးခြင်းခံရသည့် ဆလိုင်းတင်မောင်ဦးအား ထိုင်းနယ်စပ်သို့ ဘေးကင်းစွာ ခေါ်ထုတ်ပေးခဲ့သည်။

(၅) ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ထောင်ဒဏ်နှင့် တော်လှန်ရေး ၁၉၇၅ ခုနှစ်တွင် ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ထပ်မံဖမ်းဆီးခံရကာ တစ်သက်တစ်ကျွန်း အမိန့်ချမှတ်ခံခဲ့ရသည်။ ၁၉၈၀ ပြည့်နှစ် ထောင်ခါလွတ်ငြိမ်းချမ်းသာခွင့်ဖြင့် ပြန်လည်လွတ်မြောက်လာပြီးနောက် KNU နှင့် ပူးပေါင်းကာ တော်လှန်ရေးလုပ်ငန်းများကို ပြန်လည်စတင်ခဲ့သည်။

(၆) KLMF တည်ထောင်ခြင်း – ၁၉၈၃ ခုနှစ် အောက်တိုဘာလ ၂၃ ရက်နေ့တွင် ကော်သူလေးမွတ်စလင် လွတ်မြောက်ရေးတပ်ဦး (KLMF) ကို ဦးဆောင်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့သည်။

ကော်သူးလေမွတ်စလင်လွတ်မြောက်ရေးတပ်ဦး (KMLF) တည်ထောင်သူ တော်လှန်ရေးခေါင်းဆောင် ဘရားသားဇိုက်ဒ် အဗ္ဗဒုလ္လာဟ် (ခ) ဦးမောင်မောင်လွင် (ခ) အာဇမ်သည် ၂၀၀၅ ခုနှစ် ဇူလိုင် ၃၁ တွင် ကွယ်လွန်ခဲ့သည်။ ယနေ့ (၂၁) နှစ်ပြည့်ပြီဖြစ်သည်။
