It has been reported that people sent back by ship from Malaysia to Myanmar were allowed to meet their family members for only a few minutes, and were then taken away on YBS buses.

This information was obtained from a family member who went in person to meet the returnees.
It is also reported that some family members were told they would be allowed to meet them again in about 3 days.
Families of the returnees are asked to watch for further confirmed news.

Notes:
- YBS stands for Yangon Bus Service, the city’s public bus network.
- The report comes from a single eyewitness source and Global-Voice Myanmar presents it as unconfirmed (“it is reported” / “သိရပါတယ်”), so it’s worth treating cautiously until other outlets confirm it.
