Dear Respected Ma Mo, Ma Nwe, Ma Thwe, and Ma Ma,
I hereby humbly request your kind assistance in appealing to Mandalay Chief Minister U Myo Aung for permission to rebuild the masjids that were damaged by the recent earthquake.
I make this request with sincerity, as I personally know all of you. Two of you were my ‘students’ at Medical University, and four are siblings. Furthermore, Ma Ma is the wife of Chief Minister U Myo Aung. I also wish to mention that Nwe’s husband is my colleague, a medical doctor. Chief Minister U Myo Aung himself was an old Pertrite and a classmate of my brothers.
I respectfully recall that your father, former Mandalay Chief Minister U Tin Hla, was always willing to help us on several occasions in the past. His kindness and generosity remain in our memories, and I hope that spirit of support will continue through this humble request.
With deep respect, I pray that this appeal will be considered favorably, for the benefit of the community and for the preservation of our places of worship.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Ko Ko Gyi
