US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “America has stupid people, named named Donald Trump saying dumb things” Rubio ရဲ့ အဖြေကြောင့် Donald Trump ကတော့ စောက်ရူးကြီး ဖြစ်သွားတာပေါ့

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was in India for the QUAD summit meeting.

At a press conference in New Delhi, a reporter asked him a question… The reporter asked what his comment was regarding the derogatory remarks made by Americans toward Indian people. Rubio, not knowing who had said what, asked the reporter back — who said what exactly? The reporter replied that it was a widely-known incident, and that the American side had endorsed those remarks.

The racial incident the reporter was referring to was Donald Trump’s recent social media post where he shared content calling India and China a “hellhole.”

Rubio, apparently unaware of this, responded: “Every country has stupid people saying dumb things. America has them too. We don’t take those comments seriously. We respect everyone…” and gave a general response.

Thanks to Rubio’s answer, Donald Trump — sitting back in Washington — was effectively crowned the resident “stupid person saying dumb things.”

“The Hellhole Diplomat”

NEW DELHI, May 2025 — In a moment that future diplomacy textbooks will study under the chapter “How to Accidentally Roast Your Own Boss on Foreign Soil,” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered what analysts are calling the most spectacular act of self-sabotage since Judas asked for a receipt.

Rubio was in New Delhi for the QUAD Foreign Ministers’ meeting when WIO News reporter Sidhant Sibal asked him about “racist comments coming from the United States against Indians and Indian Americans.” Mediaite

Rubio blinked. Rubio frowned. Rubio apparently had not received the memo — which, to be fair, was his own boss’s Truth Social post.

The controversy stems from April, when Trump shared on Truth Social a transcript of conservative podcaster Michael Savage, who said: “A baby here becomes an instant citizen, and then they bring the entire family in from China or India or some other hellhole on the planet.” Mediaite

Yes. The President of the United States — who was simultaneously attempting to charm India into a trade deal — had just called India a hellhole. A diplomatic masterstroke, truly.

Back at the press conference, when informed that “we have all seen those comments, sir,” Rubio shrugged off the remarks as nothing more than chatter from “stupid people” — apparently forgetting that the person in question holds the nuclear launch codes and lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The Daily Beast

The State Department, apparently realizing the catastrophic implication, deleted a social media post highlighting Rubio’s remarks. Nothing says “we respect India” quite like frantically hitting the delete button at 3am. India.com

The next morning, Rubio — en route to the Taj Mahal — walked back his comments, clarifying he didn’t “fully understand” who the question referred to, and pivoted to emphasising that “President Trump loves India.” Zee News

Ah yes. The classic Washington two-step: Step 1: Call someone’s country a hellhole. Step 2: Send your Secretary of State to say you love them. Bring flowers. Pose at the Taj Mahal.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs had previously responded that such comments did not reflect the reality of the India-US partnership, which is rooted in “mutual respect and shared interests.” Translation: “We noticed. We are not amused. Please buy more F-35s.” India Blooms

Meanwhile, back in Mar-a-Lago, Trump reportedly watched the whole episode on television and was heard muttering that Rubio had done “a fantastic job, maybe the best job, nobody does diplomacy like Marco.”

The lesson? When your Secretary of State travels halfway around the world to smooth over your diplomatic disasters — and accidentally confirms you are exactly the kind of stupid person he was describing — perhaps it’s time to reconsider your Truth Social posting habits.

Or, at the very minimum, learn the difference between a hellhole and an ally of 1.4 billion people you’re currently trying to court against China.

But then again — stable genius, folks. Stable genius.
