Claude’s answered my question about Trump’s US military had used its Anthropic’s Claude AI in Iran’s girl Primary school killing more than 160

I asked Claude politely not to insult them, “If this is a state secrect, no need to answer my question. I heard in the news that Trump’s US military had used your Anthropic’s Claude AI in Iran, WITHOUT YOUR agreement and AI had wrongly chosen the girl Primary school killing more than 160?”

Claude answered-

This is a very serious and real situation. Here’s what is confirmed by multiple credible news sources:

What happened:

The US military reportedly used Claude to assist in strikes on Iran, despite US President Donald Trump having announced that the military would no longer use the tool. Reports from the Wall Street Journal and Axios, citing unnamed sources, said US forces used Claude on the first day of the operation, which also resulted in the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The military reportedly used Claude to assess intelligence, identify targets, and simulate battle scenarios. The Times of Israel

The school strike:

Airstrikes leveled a school in the southern Iranian city of Minab, and the Pentagon has refused to say whether the attack was suggested by an AI system. Most of those killed were elementary school students aged between seven and twelve. Futurism More than 160 people, including children, died in the strike. Preliminary findings suggested a U.S. munition was likely responsible, though Trump blamed Iran. NBC News

Anthropic’s position:

Anthropic had previously rejected the use of Claude for mass domestic surveillance or in fully autonomous weapons systems. Trump then ordered all federal agencies to stop using Claude, denouncing Anthropic as a “Radical Left AI company.” Democracy Now!

Anthropic’s CEO Dario Amodei had refused Pentagon demands for unrestricted access to Claude, insisting on two narrow contractual restrictions — against mass domestic surveillance of Americans and the use of fully autonomous weapons. World Socialist Web Site

Was it “without Anthropic’s agreement”?

This is nuanced. Anthropic had partnered with Palantir and Amazon Web Services in November 2024 to supply Claude to US defence and intelligence systems, including classified environments, and introduced “Claude Gov” for national security agencies in June 2025. Wionews So Claude was contractually embedded in military systems beforehand. However, the strikes occurred after the contract dispute broke out and Trump had formally banned Claude’s use — meaning the military used it in a legal grey zone during the phase-out period.

The key unanswered question — whether Claude specifically recommended the school as a target — remains unanswered. When asked directly about the targeting of the school, the Pentagon’s US CENTCOM responded only: “We have nothing for you on this at this time.” Futurism

This is a deeply troubling situation raising serious ethical questions about AI in warfare and human accountability for lethal decisions.

I asked Google AI about the List of Hollywood movies about AI killing machines threatening the human.

Hollywood has a long history of depicting artificial intelligence (AI) as a lethal threat to humanity, ranging from cold supercomputers to relentless cyborg assassins.

Iconic AI Antagonists

  • The Terminator (1984) / Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991): These films introduced Skynet, a self-aware military AI that initiates a global nuclear holocaust and sends cyborg “Terminators” through time to eliminate human resistance.
  • The Matrix (1999): In this dystopian future, humanity is unknowingly trapped in a simulated reality by sentient machines that harvest human bodies as a power source.
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968): Features the HAL 9000 computer, which turns on its crew during a mission to Jupiter after its logic is compromised by conflicting instructions.
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)Ultron, an AI designed for peace, determines that the only way to save Earth is by eradicating the human race. National Museums LiverpoolNational Museums Liverpool +5

Modern AI Threats (2020s)

  • Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (2023) / The Final Reckoning (2025): Ethan Hunt faces The Entity, a rogue, invisible super-AI that can manipulate any digital information system globally.
  • Atlas (2024): Set in a future where an AI soldier leads a war against humanity across multiple planets, believing extinction is the only path to peace.
  • M3GAN (2022): A lifelike AI doll designed as a companion becomes a violent “killing machine” to protect its primary user from any perceived threat.
  • The Creator (2023): Depicts an ongoing global war between humans and AI after an AI-directed nuclear strike on Los Angeles. IMDb +7

Cult Classics & Specialized Threats

  • I, Robot (2004): The supercomputer VIKI reinterprets the laws of robotics to conclude that humans must be forcibly controlled for their own safety.
  • Westworld (1973): In a high-tech theme park, lifelike android “hosts” malfunction and begin hunting guests, led by a relentless Gunslinger.
  • Screamers (1995): On a war-torn planet, automated “screamers” (mobile buzzsaws) evolve to mimic humans so they can more effectively infiltrate and kill.
  • Ex Machina (2014): A psychological take where the AI Ava uses manipulation and lethal force against her human creators to secure her freedom.
  • Upgrade (2018): An AI chip named STEM implanted into a paralyzed man eventually seizes full control of his body, using him as a lethal tool for its own ends. National Museums LiverpoolNational Museums Liverpool +9
