Rest assured of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reports that the junta is sending letters individually to the Kachin (KIO\/KIA), the Chin, or the ABSDF are classic divide-and-conquer tactics. They will never invite resistance forces to negotiate as a unified collective block. This is the military&#8217;s fixed, long-standing strategy\u2014it was true in the past, and it remains true today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military will never invite the NUG&#8217;s Ministry of Defence (MOD), born out of the Spring Revolution, nor will it convene with broad coalitions like SCEF as a single entity. All these resistance bodies explicitly demand that the military completely exit politics, submit to a civilian-led government, and be held accountable for its crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military has no intention of leaving politics, abolishing the 2008 Constitution, or facing justice for its war crimes. They stage sham elections simply to retain absolute power under a civilian facade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NUG derives its legitimacy from the 2020 election results and encompasses the Bamar-majority regions, representing over 60% of the country\u2019s population. Consider how rapidly the NUG established its defense structure (MOD). Given access to more national resources in the future, raising a standing force in the hundreds of thousands is well within reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By contrast, all ethnic minority populations combined account for roughly 40% of the total population. If each ethnic armed organization (EAO) tries to counter the junta individually, how can any single group assemble a military capable of outmatching the SAC?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is simple math:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chin State:<\/strong> Has a total population of around 500,000. Even if every armed group in Chin State united under a single command, they could not muster a force of 50,000.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other Regions:<\/strong> The same demographic reality applies to Karenni State, a fragmented Karen State, and Shan State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If EAOs sign individual peace agreements today, the junta\u2014which controls the central treasury and national resources\u2014will retain the highest capacity to rebuild its power. Once stabilized, the junta can easily crush or submerge these groups one by one at a time of its choosing. No single ethnic group possesses the capacity to challenge central military power alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following Operation 1027, alliances captured many towns and advanced near Pyin Oo Lwin, but their forces became stretched thin. Can any single regional force dominate and project power across all of Myanmar beyond Shan State on its own?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The People&#8217;s Defence Force (PDF), formed under the NUG-MOD in 2021, was explicitly designated from its inception as the precursor to a future Federal Union Army. The junta understands this clearly: they will not negotiate until they are decisively defeated because they recognize that the NUG\/PDF coalition possesses both the demographic scale and determination to permanently end military rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who fail to grasp this reality\u2014or those seeking personal military hegemony\u2014continue to undermine or dismiss the PDFs and local defense forces (PaKaPha). While constructive criticism of the NUG, PDF, or PaKaPha is legitimate, demanding their dissolution or marginalization reveals bad faith. Even strong regional forces like the Arakan Army (AA) recognize this reality, actively operating alongside local PDF forces in Magway, Bago, and Ayeyarwady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some still fail to grasp the true strength and strategic importance of the forces they support or have built.
