The third volume of the <em>Konbaung Dynasty Royal Chronicle (Maha Yazawin)<\/em> records the following: <em>&#8220;On the 7th waxing day of Tabaung, in the year 1245 of the Burmese Era, the town governors were ordered to guard and maintain the royal city and criminal affairs. The 12 gates, 12 wards inside the city, and their watchmen, along with 57 major city gates and 124 outpost guards outside the city, were disbanded. The Nandaw-Mingalar Horse Duties Officer with 150 men was assigned to the Mandalay Town Governor, and the Shwehlan Town Governor was assigned 150 Shwehlan duty officers respectively \u2014 to stand guard and maintain law and order, prevent theft, fire, and disorder, through day and night patrols.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mandalay Town Governor held the title of <em>Mingyi Thiri Maha Zeya Gamani<\/em> and was named <strong>U Pe Si<\/strong>. His biography and charitable deeds can be found inscribed on a stone inscription inside the Ratanabon Thea Zedi, to the west of Ywar Hine village. The Shwehlan Town Governor held the title of <em>Mingyi Maha Min Gaung Naw Ratha<\/em>, and the <strong>Akkapat Town Governor bore the title of <em>Mingyi Maha Minthing Razathara<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Akkapat Town Governor is known to have been named <strong>U Chun Su<\/strong>, a man of <strong>Pathi<\/strong> (Burmese Muslim) ethnicity. Having observed architectural styles abroad: most notably in <strong>Italy<\/strong>, he constructed the famous <strong>brick monastery of Akkapat<\/strong> within what is now the Maha Dipa Yin monastery complex, drawing inspiration from those European designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/myanmarmuslim.news\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5517\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myanmarmuslim.news\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-10.png 1000w, https:\/\/myanmarmuslim.news\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-10-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/myanmarmuslim.news\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-10-768x512.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Akkapat Town Governor was also graciously granted the title of <strong>Coastal Town Lord (Pinl\u00e8 Myosa\u02d0)<\/strong> by royal favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His descendants lived to the east of the <strong>Power Station in Mandalay<\/strong>, in the area now believed to be where the <strong>Wakaf building<\/strong> stands today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"698\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/myanmarmuslim.news\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-15.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5522\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myanmarmuslim.news\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-15.png 698w, https:\/\/myanmarmuslim.news\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-15-218x300.png 218w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 698px) 100vw, 698px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Akkapata Town Governor built his meritorious monastery in a uniquely distinctive style, featuring <strong>spiral staircases in a conical form<\/strong>, unlike anything seen before.
