So too with insults \u2014 don&#8217;t accept them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Epictetus (Stoic)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If someone provokes you, know that your reaction is your own doing, not theirs.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Proverbs 26:4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The wisdom of verse 205 of \u1019\u1003\u1012\u1031\u101d is timeless:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Recognize<\/strong> \u2014 The abuser&#8217;s rudeness reflects <em>their<\/em> lowly character, not yours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do not engage<\/strong> \u2014 Responding to mud-slinging only drags you into the mud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maintain dignity<\/strong> \u2014 The lion&#8217;s greatness lies in its composure, not its claws.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Walk away<\/strong> \u2014 Distance is not weakness; it is wisdom.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;\u101b\u1014\u103a\u1019\u1016\u103c\u1005\u103a\u1014\u103e\u1004\u1037\u103a&#8221;<\/em> \u2014 <strong>&#8220;Let no enmity arise&#8221;<\/strong> \u2014 is the final and most powerful line.
