Let me do that now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1\ufe0f\u20e3 First, an important clarification (very right\u201d<\/strong>, but <strong>\u201cpurpose vs limitation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2\ufe0f\u20e3 What exactly <em>is<\/em> the Qur\u2019an in Islam?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Islam, the Qur\u2019an is defined as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>The literal word of Allah, revealed in Arabic, recited as worship.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This definition matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the <strong>Arabic words change<\/strong>, even if the meaning is correct:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>it becomes <strong>tafsir (explanation)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not <strong>Qur\u2019an<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3\ufe0f\u20e3 Example 1: A simple human analogy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine your <strong>mother<\/strong> spoke to you in Burmese when you were young.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now someone translates her words into English and says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis is exactly what your mother said.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>You may understand the meaning, but:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the <strong>voice is gone<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the <strong>emotion is different<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the <strong>exact wording is lost<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Would you say the translation <em>replaces<\/em> your mother\u2019s actual voice?<br>Of course not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 Same with the Qur\u2019an.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4\ufe0f\u20e3 Example 2: One short Qur\u2019anic phrase<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Arabic verse:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u0671\u0644\u0631\u064e\u0651\u062d\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0670\u0646\u0650 \u0671\u0644\u0631\u064e\u0651\u062d\u0650\u064a\u0645\u0650<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually translated as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>But Arabic scholars explain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ra\u1e25m\u0101n<\/strong> = overflowing mercy, universal, uncontrollable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ra\u1e25\u012bm<\/strong> = continuous, personal mercy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>English needs <strong>many sentences<\/strong> to explain what Arabic does in <strong>two words<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So the translation gives <strong>meaning<\/strong>,<br>but the Arabic gives <strong>depth + sound + precision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5\ufe0f\u20e3 Sound itself is part of the message<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is something many people miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Qur\u2019an:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>harsh sounds often come with warnings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>soft sounds often come with mercy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>short verses strike the heart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>long verses calm and explain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Example (meaning only, not quoting):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>verses about punishment are <strong>sharp and quick<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>verses about Jannah <strong>flow gently<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Translation <strong>cannot carry sound<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>even non-Muslims cry hearing Qur\u2019an<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>even without understanding Arabic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6\ufe0f\u20e3 Why Arabic recitation is used in prayer (\u1e62al\u0101h)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u1e62al\u0101h is not only <em>reading<\/em>.<br>It is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>obedience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>remembrance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>unity of the Ummah<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If everyone prayed in generations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Arabic acts like a <strong>protective shell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meaning is learned through translation,<br>but <strong>worship is preserved through Arabic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7\ufe0f\u20e3 Very important point for you personally<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You are a <strong>non-Arab Muslim<\/strong>.<br>Islam <strong>never required<\/strong> you to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>understand full Arabic grammar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>become a linguist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>abandon translations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your reward is based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>effort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sincerity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>intention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet \ufdfa said (meaning):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The one who struggles while reciting has <strong>double reward<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>That includes people like you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8\ufe0f\u20e3 So what is the correct balance?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the <strong>healthy Islamic balance<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Arabic recitation<\/strong> \u2192 for worship, preservation, blessing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Translation<\/strong> \u2192 for understanding, reflection, guidance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One <strong>does not cancel<\/strong> the other.<br>They <strong>complete<\/strong> each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf31 Final reassurance
