Muslim Americans achieved historic breakthroughs in the 2025 elections, with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) reporting 38 Muslim winners nationwide out of 76 candidates. Highlights include Zohran K. Mamdani\u2019s election as New York City\u2019s first Muslim mayor and Ghazala Hashmi becoming Virginia\u2019s first Muslim woman elected statewide. CAIR called the results a \u201cvictory for all Americans who believe in justice and equality,\u201d praising candidates who overcame Islamophobia and ran with integrity and courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
