\u2013 Myanmar Ah Lin<\/em>, the official mouthpiece of the Myanmar Military Junta<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This arrogant proclamation from the regime reminded me instantly of another tragic overconfidence in history:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis ship is unsinkable, even God Himself can\u2019t sink it!\u201d
\u2013 Newspaper headline before the Titanic<\/strong>\u2019s ill-fated maiden voyage.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The story of the Titanic is a powerful metaphor. Its builders were so sure of its invincibility that they neglected to provide enough lifeboats for all passengers. First-class elites had easy access to safety. The poor, left at the bottom deck \u2014 as always \u2014 were sacrificed to icy oblivion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast forward to Myanmar: history seems to echo. While the daughter of a former Senior General sparkles in Sein<\/strong> (diamonds), the ordinary Burmese people \u2014 and even poorly paid soldiers \u2014 are left to sein<\/strong> (eat)\u2026 arsenic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Word of Warning to the Myanmar Military Junta:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Don\u2019t tempt fate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Fate enjoys irony.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Fate always wins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    But the Tatmadaw \u2014 being what it is \u2014 never learns.
    They keep making the same mistakes, dragging the country in circles or backward, all while claiming they’re on a roadmap to democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They proudly declare they don’t need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • The NLD<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ethnic nationalities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Religious minorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Civilian voices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Why? Because they claim to have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • 400,000 troops<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • A few million \u201cKyant Phuts\u201d (paid regime loyalists)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • 400,000 ultranationalist Ma Ba Tha monks, led by Thidagu and Wirathu<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Thousands of Swan Arr Shin thugs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Former ceasefire rebels now in their pocket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        With this force, they say, they can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Slow-walk reforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Backtrack whenever convenient<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Drift aimlessly, pretending to navigate<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Stage fake elections under ASEAN\u2019s toothless Five-Point Consensus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          They\u2019ve ruled for 50 years. What\u2019s to stop them from 500 more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          But here\u2019s the twist:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          The Spring Revolution<\/strong>, and a new generation that refuses to bow.
          The growing weight of international isolation<\/strong>, sanctions<\/strong>, and global outrage<\/strong>.
          The diaspora shouting louder. The truth spreading faster.
          A nation awakening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          So perhaps Senior General Min Aung Hlaing \u2014 our modern-day Titanic captain \u2014 and his crew should start looking for lifeboats. Because history doesn\u2019t favor arrogance forever. And even the mightiest ships\u2026 sink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
