There is a Malay proverb, \u201cSeperti katak di bawah tempurung\u201d <\/em>which means, \u201cLike a frog underneath coconut shell\u201d. A frog which lives under a coconut shell used to think that the shell is its world.  So, someone with the myopic vision will be like that frog and usually ignorant of things\/events\/places outside his \/her\u2019world\u2019.  He\/she refuses to venture out into the real world outside and remains ignorant but but wrongly proud with what he\/she has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am trying not\u00a0to be like a frog underneath coconut shell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Burmese, we have a proverb,\u201dThe moonlight shinning in the hollow of the bamboo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another one is more similar to the Malay proverb, \u201cThe frog thought its water in the foot-print of the cow was an ocean\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Th picture below may combine the two proverbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I am afraid that even if we were a king or a queen in our own place, we would become a commoner in other land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
