That brought to mind a passage I read in U Nu\u2019s <em>Five Seasons of Burma<\/em>, which I&#8217;d like to share:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Myanmar Monks Protest Bangladesh Attacks\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9SW1i9OkQIM?start=4&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf I err, let me be wrong. But one truth I believe: monks who seek political power are like sugarcane cut into pieces\u2014they can\u2019t bear even the slightest bitterness. These gentle souls, unaccustomed to hardship or suffering, are being dragged weekly into politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monastics are not like ordinary people. Their lives are safeguarded by 227 rules\u2014covering over nine thousand subtleties\u2014making their existence as delicate as a silkworm on a dew drop. They live in profound gentleness and restraint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet those exceedingly gentle individuals are now participating in the harshest arena imaginable: politics. How can that be fitting?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>True monks dedicate themselves modestly to monastic duties and community rituals. They perform weekly chanting, observe precepts, and maintain daily observances\u2014even making ritual offerings. They never enter worldly workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who do\u2014enter politics\u2014have been misled, likely without knowing the gravity of their offense. We must feel compassion for them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 U Nu, <em>Five Seasons of Burma<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reflection<\/strong>:<br>What forgiveness do we offer those who not only kill and burn, but incite others to do so? Can we ever \u201cgrant absolution\u201d to someone who ordered violence from the shadows\u2014or those who delivered the flames with their own class=\"wp-block-heading\">Anti-Islam and Anti-OIC protests by Buddhist&nbsp;monks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Demanding the Myanmar Government and Bama Military to stop the Anti-Islam and Anti-OIC&nbsp;protests<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/drkokogyi.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/anti-islam-and-anti-oic.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/drkokogyi.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/anti-islam-and-anti-oic.jpg?w=450&amp;h=337\" alt=\"\" title=\"Anti Islam and Anti OIC\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We hereby href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Protest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protests<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If they fail to control or stop these nonsense this could lead to the widespread Anti-Muslim protests throughout Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President U&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thein_Sein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Thein Sein<\/a>&nbsp;led&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usdp.org.mm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USDP<\/a>&nbsp;party, Myanmar Government and Myanmar Military would be held responsible for the loss of properties and lives of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muslim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Muslims<\/a>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_Nations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the UN<\/a>&nbsp;and ICC if these protests escalates into&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Islamophobia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">anti-Muslim<\/a>&nbsp;Riots in any part of Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a It shows that he is not a real monk but the MI agent provocator.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>You could read about them from the US Secretary of state\u2019s Human Rights reports.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>They were spotted waring\u00a0underwear (singlets) issued as army uniform, talking on walkie-talkies (only issued to Military Intelligent agents) and even riding motor-bikes. (True monks are forbidden from riding motor-bike in Myanmar.)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Few of them were carrying pistols.
